|As a rule, you should come to our office twice a year for regular cleanings and X-rays, when needed. This will allow our dentists and hygienists to keep your mouth healthy and detect any potential problems early.
The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends maintaining these guidelines and good habits at home for the best oral health possible.
While many people have dental insurance that covers regular cleanings, some don't which makes it harder to keep their appointments. Doing this can create problems with your teeth that will worsen over time when ignored.
Prevention is Key
The best treatment is prevention as they say, and this is no different when it comes to your oral health. We can usually find problems early on, and if we treat them, you will have no further problems. Generally, any major dental issue arises, because people stop visiting us twice a year for a variety of reasons.
One of the most severe problems you can avoid by keeping your regular appointments is tooth decay, which can lead to gum disease and ultimately to tooth loss. Our mission is to help you keep your teeth for as long as you live, if possible. With good oral health care at home and in our office, most people can attain that goal without any problems.
Ignoring dental problems will only make matters worse and become costlier as time goes by. Filling a cavity is a routine treatment that lasts for many, many years, but not treating that cavity can lead to other, more serious dental problems. You never want to let a problem with your teeth get worse because it will cause you more pain and money.
If you have any concerns about paying for your dental care let us know and we will see what your options are.
