Antidepressants are known to have a negative impact on bone health, increasing the risk of developing gum disease, tooth decay, oral yeast infections, bad breath, and implant failure.
These medications also cause dry mouth, which can lead to other dental problems. Antidepressants as necessary for many people for various reasons.
Blood Pressure Medications
Heart rhythmic medications, calcium channel blockers, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, beta blockers, and diuretics are commonly prescribed medications used in the treatment of high blood pressure.
These medications sometimes cause a growth or swelling of the gums. This swelling may cause the gums to bleed or make it difficult to properly clean the teeth. To minimize bleeding, brush with a soft-bristled toothbrush using gentle movements.
