Patient Questions
How can I schedule an appointment?
Please call us at 714-842-7431 and we will schedule an appointment for you at
your earliest convenience.
What do I do if I have an emergency when the office is closed?
Please call our regular office number at 714-842-7431. The
recording will give you a local number where your concerns
can be answered promptly. If this a life and death situation,
please call 911 or go to the emergency room immediately.
Do you accept referrals or are you
accepting new patients?
We welcome them! When you refer your family, friends and neighbors,
you're expressing your confidence in us—and we truly appreciate
that recommendation. It is the greatest complement that you
can give us!
How do the doctors keep up to date on all of the current techniques
and materials?
All of the doctors are very interested in ensuring that our
patients benefit from the latest dental techniques and materials.
We do that by participating in many hours of continuing education
courses and seminars each year.
I have a crown in my mouth. What happens
if it comes off or breaks?
Carefully preserve the crown (a plastic container works well)
and call our office right away. We'll schedule an appointment
as soon as possible so the doctor can replace the crown in
your mouth.
What different payment options do you provide?
We want to make your dental care as affordable as possible,
so we accept cash, check and credit cards.
Do I have to floss every day? Is it really that important?
Yes, it really is. Daily flossing helps remove bacteria and
other small particles between your teeth that can cause decay
and lead to periodontal disease. These particles are impossible
to remove by just brushing. We have a saying at our office- "You
only have to floss the teeth you want to keep!!!"
What is Smile Analysis and Design?
Smile analysis and design is the complex, exacting process
that we use to create a smile that is just right for you,
a smile that compliments your unique features. We take photographs
and models of your mouth and face before we begin any work;
then, using digital imaging techniques and wax models, we
make changes in the size, shape and color of your teeth so
that they will be in the perfect configuration and proportion
for you.
I brush everyday, but my breath just is not fresh. Is there
anything I can do?
If you have problems with bad breath, you're not alone! Millions
of people struggle with halitosis, or bad breath, despite daily
teeth brushing.
The first thing you can do is follow a careful oral hygiene
routine: brush twice a day, floss daily, and clean your tongue
with your toothbrush daily. Make sure you come to see us regularly
for professional cleanings. If you wear dentures or dental
appliances, clean them carefully
If your problems persist, we may suggest a plastic tool called
a tongue scraper that cleans away bacterial build-up on your
tongue and significantly alleviates odor. Or, we can recommend
a specially prepared rinse or toothpaste designed to actually
break the odor-causing sulfur bonds that cause bad breath.
Finally, we may also suspect a systemic or internal problem
such as an infection or underlying condition. In this case,
we may recommend a visit with your family physician or specialist
to identify the cause.
